Meet The Team

Our Operations Intelligence and Watson team is a highly agile group that embraces innovation to scale business analytic products primarily for Operations (Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality) and R&D. In this role you will partner with data engineers and stakeholders to provide actionable insights and key operating metrics across Dexcom.

The Staff Business Intelligence Analyst analyzes complex business problems using data from internal and external sources, identifies and interprets trends and patterns, constructs forecasts, recommendations, and strategic or tactical plans. This role creates specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and may consult with users and lead cross‑functional efforts to address business issues. Additionally, you will lead complex analytics and reporting efforts, oversee junior BI members, and support operational efficiencies and strategic planning through standardized, automated reporting and insights.

  • Execute projects impacting safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Work with stakeholders to collect, analyze, define, and document requirements for data sets, reports, dashboards, metrics, and ad-hoc insights.
  • Build and maintain dashboards, visualizations, reports, and insights using Tableau & Google Cloud Looker technologies.
  • Provide end‑user support and guidance on best practices for effective, standardized dashboards and analytics governance.
  • Develop and operationalize efficient BI data models using BigQuery, DbT, Composer, and LookML.

  • Quick learner with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated significant technical expertise using BI software (e.g., Tableau, Looker) to create reports and dashboards.
  • Expertise in developing SQL queries, stored procedures, and index tables for complex and efficient SQL statements.
  • Foundational understanding of statistics and data science.
  • Experience presenting to Senior or Executive Management.
  • Experience with BI project management.
Preferred
  • Tableau certification
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Project Management certification
  • Google Cloud Data Engineering or Machine Learning certification

Experience And Education Requirements

Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and a minimum of 8‑12 years related experience, or a Master’s degree with 5‑7 years equivalent industry experience, or a PhD with 2‑4 years of experience.
