Job summary

Rippling in New York is hiring a senior software engineer for the Data Cloud team to build an end-to-end analytics and BI system that will replace the need for separate data lakes and warehouses. You will own data ingestion, transformation, catalogs, and visualization at scale.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development in fast-paced environments
• Strong CS fundamentals, architectures and design patterns
• Proven track record building large-scale applications, APIs, and developer tools
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical partners
• Product-focused with passion for customer experience impact
• Bonus points for open-source contributions (Iceberg, Parquet, Spark, Hive, Flink, Delta Lake, Presto, Trino, Avro)

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality software with attention to detail using Python, Apache Trino, Iceberg, Temporal
• Create Data visualization and query processing products used at large scale
• Create data platforms, data lakes, and data ingestion systems that work at scale
• Have clear ownership of one or many products, APIs or platform spaces
• Build and grow your engineering skills in different challenging areas and solve hard technical problems
• Influence architecture, technology selections, and trends of the whole company
