Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Data Ops to join the Autonomy Data team. You will provide cloud and data engineering expertise to build, test, and release complex mission-critical services for Rivian's ADAS on AWS.

Work with ADAS Cloud, Data, Perception, and Vehicle teams to apply best practices and reference architectures across AWS Cloud Platform and Data/Dev/ML Ops. Responsibilities include leading data infra, multi-region setups, CI/CD ownership, on-call rotations, and cost

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering or ML/Dev/Data Ops experience.
• 5+ years of production infrastructure management.
• 5+ years with Kubernetes, AWS CI/CD tools, and cloud services like S3, Lambda, EKS, ECS, RDS.
• 5+ years of Infra as Code with Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
• 5+ years of monitoring cloud apps with Datadog, CloudWatch or Prometheus.
• 3+ years hands-on Python, Go or Java; Gitlab for automation.
• 2+ years CI/CD and GitOps (Gitlab/Jenkins/Allure).
• 2+ years microservices on Kubernetes/AWS; Agile Dev of Accessible Tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead, build, test and release mission-critical data infra for Rivian's ADAS on cloud/on-prem.
• Setup fault-tolerant multi-region data ops environments.
• Own CI/CD pipeline for apps and data projects.
• Define on-call strategy and participate in rotations.
• Automate workflows to streamline developers’ lives.
• Build highly reliable, scalable, distributed infra via microservices.
• Collaborate with security/privacy to audit and fix findings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional ADAS teams for integrations.
• Optimize AWS cost across accounts and services.
