Job summary

Apple is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to lead the data engineering and architecture behind a security data platform initiative. You will own the data model and the pipeline contracts used by multiple teams, moving pipelines from prototype into production to support a critical security program.

The role requires deep distributed data engineering experience, data judgment, and the ability to set technical direction across a large, matrixed engineering organization.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience with Spark and distributed data technologies for large scale data pipelines.
• Proficient in at least one of Java, Python or Scala.
• Deep expertise in data principles, architecture & modeling; strong SQL skills.
• Able to tackle loosely defined problems with meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience navigating a complex, matrixed organization with cross-functional projects.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; capable of leading tech strategy discussions.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud resources (S3, EC2, RDS).
• Understanding of OSI model and network basics; awareness of containers and applications.
