Job summary

Apple invites a Junior Software Development Engineer - Data in Cupertino, CA to supervise a team of senior data engineers and engineer scalable data pipelines for Apple Cloud Services.

You will own datasets and build data solutions across Apple cloud products, interfacing with existing systems and adopting cutting-edge technologies to deliver high-quality data outcomes in cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
• Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation.
• 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required: Apache Spark
• 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required: Hive
• 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required: Presto
• 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required: SQL
• 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required: ETL Design
• 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required: Data Modeling
• 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required: Data Governance
• 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required: Product Analytics

Responsibilities

• Supervise 4 senior data engineers.
• Engineer efficient, adaptable and scalable data pipelines to process structured and unstructured data.
• Own and evolve rich datasets on Apple cloud products and platform interactions to power a wide variety of use cases.
• Build forward-looking data solutions that interface well with existing systems and use judgement to bring cutting edge technologies in the industry to suit Apple Cloud Services’ needs.
• Understand how key technical decisions will drive business outcomes and deliver/aid data frameworks and platforms that improve delivery with high-quality to those outcomes by partnering with cross functional teams.
