Job summary

Dexcom is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to design, develop and maintain SQL database systems supporting manufacturing operations. You will optimize MS SQL Server databases, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data models across global data stores.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, implement data warehousing, data replication, and modernize data platforms using GCP, BigQuery, DBT and Iceberg. Strong communication and DBA experience required; remote work from the United States.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 8+ years of related experience.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2012+ and DBA practices; replication knowledge.
Proficiency with MS SQL Server stack: SSIS, SSRS, PowerBI, PolyBase, BigQuery, Datastream.
Familiarity with Iceberg tables, Cloud Storage, DBT and data virtualization.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT security and engineering.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain SQL database systems to support manufacturing operations.
Optimize and monitor MS SQL Server databases, ETL/ELT integrations, CDC, replication, and data models.
Drive database best practices and support data modernization using cutting-edge technologies (AI, MCP).
Develop and maintain monitoring tools; implement ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing for near real-time global data access.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design systems, and implement database solutions (stored procedures, schemas, data contracts).
Document and train DBA teams on solutions and best practices.
