Job summary

This role requires deep expertise in CDC technologies, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and cloud-native data engineering, plus technical leadership across multiple teams to drive architecture, performance, reliability, and modernization

Qualifications

• 7+ years of data engineering or data platform development experience.
• 5+ years designing enterprise-scale data platforms and distributed systems.
• Experience with UniVerse or UniData operational databases.
• Proficiency in PICK BASIC, wIntegrate, Unix/Linux, and SDLC methodologies
• Strong experience with CDC, replication technologies, and near real-time data movement patterns.
• Experience designing data stores, transactional caches, or API-serving platforms.
• Strong Python and SQL development skills.
• Experience developing and supporting production ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot distributed data processing and data synchronization issues.
• Strong architecture, communication, and technical leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of a near real-time transactional cache platform.
• Design CDC pipelines that replicate UniVerse data into PostgreSQL.
• Develop pipelines to transform operational relational data to MongoDB documents.
• Evolve MongoDB models, indexing, partitioning for high-throughput API use.
• Partner with API teams to deliver cache-ready domain models.
• Set data freshness, latency, monitoring, and availability standards.
• Optimize PostgreSQL and MongoDB performance via schema/indexing.
• Own platform reliability, observability, and incident response.
• Create runbooks, dashboards, alerts for production caches.
• Provide technical leadership and establish engineering standards.
• Mentor engineers on CDC and cloud-native data platforms.
