Job summary

Sanity.io is seeking a Senior to Staff Data Engineer to design and scale our data infrastructure powering company analytics. You will own data pipelines, telemetry, and data quality across products, enabling reliable, data-driven decisions.

You will partner with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure scalable, secure, and compliant data platforms while advancing our AI-assisted workflows across teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience architecting data warehouse and pipeline infrastructure.
• Strong SQL and Python proficiency.
• Fluent in dbt, workflow orchestration tools (Dagster, Airflow).
• Experience building large-scale data pipelines using Google Datastream and BigQuery.
• Hands-on with Google Cloud Platform, including IaC tools like Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain Sanity's data ecosystem: pipelines, integrations, and the warehouse.
• Partner with engineering teams to implement and scale product telemetry across product surfaces.
• Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to understand data needs and build reliable pipelines.
• Build monitoring, alerting, logging for pipeline health, data lineage, and performance.
• Define SLAs/SLOs, incident response, and data quality monitoring.
• Maintain the data team's eval framework for AI use cases.
• Optimize pipeline performance and cost as data volumes grow.
