Job summary

Rippling, based in San Francisco, builds an end-to-end HR and IT platform. The Data Cloud team is delivering analytics and BI systems to replace data lakes and warehouses, enabling automated insights with ML/LLMs. You will work on ingestion, transformation, lineage, catalogs, and visualization at scale.

You will help shape architecture and develop scalable data products using Python, Trino, Iceberg, and related tech, while exploring ML-driven analytics copilots for customers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience in fast-paced environments.
• Solid understanding of CS fundamentals, architectures and design patterns.
• Proven track record building large-scale applications, APIs and developer tools.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical partners.
• Strong product focus with impact on customer experience.
• Bonus: contributions to open-source projects (Iceberg, Parquet, Spark, Hive, Flink, Delta Lake, Presto/Trino, Avro).

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality software with attention to detail using Python, Trino, Iceberg, Temporal.
• Create data visualization and query processing products at scale.
• Build data platforms, data lakes, and data ingestion systems for large-scale use.
• Own one or more products, APIs or platform spaces.
• Grow engineering skills across challenging areas and solve hard problems.
• Influence architecture, technology choices, and company-wide trends.
