Job summary

Rippling is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to architect the AI platforms within Data Cloud. You will build the intelligence layer for the unified workforce system, focusing on schema retrieval, RL training environments, and scalable model serving.

Collaborate closely with AI Platform, Infrastructure, Security, and Product Engineering to drive architecture and rollout plans. You will lead multi-team initiatives, mentor engineers, and own Data Cloud capabilities that improve quality,

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with distributed systems ownership.
• Experience post-training and deploying LLMs in production environments.
• Experience optimizing model inference at scale with LLMs/embedding models.

Responsibilities

• Develop a state-of-the-art schema retrieval system over Rippling schemas.
• Scale Data Cloud AI training pipelines for data retrieval and training clusters.
• Design RL training environments for structured and unstructured data retrieval.
• Build agent harnesses to enable safe AI features on Data Cloud.
• Optimize model serving and inference for large-scale, GPU-accelerated workloads.
• Collaborate with AI Platform, Infrastructure, Security and Product Engineering on standards and rollout plans.
• Lead technical direction, mentor engineers, and drive multi-team initiatives.
