Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and evolution of data systems powering analytics, experimentation, ML, and business decisions. You will own complex initiatives from design to production, partnering with Data Science, Analytics, Product, and Engineering teams.

As a senior member, you will raise the technical bar through mentorship and best practices, leveraging Snowflake, dbt, Spark, and Kafka to build scalable, well-governed data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
• 5+ years designing, building, and operating production data engineering systems.
• Proficiency with Python, SQL, and ELT development practices; observable data pipelines.
• Experience designing data warehouses in Snowflake or similar cloud platforms.
• Experience with dbt or similar data transformation tooling.
• Experience with distributed processing technologies like Spark or Kafka.
• Ability to lead complex initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring engineers and raising engineering quality.
• Strong communication to align engineering and business stakeholders.
• Commitment to AI tools and maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize data models and Snowflake architectures for analytics and ML use cases.
• Own complex cross-functional data initiatives from planning to production support.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Analytics, Data Science, and Data Platform Engineering.
• Drive improvements in data quality, observability, testing, and documentation.
• Mentor Data Engineers through design reviews and coaching; contribute to hiring and onboarding.
• Contribute to the technical direction and standards of the Data Engineering org.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate development while ensuring rigorous validation and security.
