General Motors is seeking a Staff cybersecurity software engineer to design, build, and run production-critical authorization services. This staff-level role emphasizes authorization strategy, secure engineering standards, and reliable delivery of security products across distributed cloud environments.

The role is based in Warren, MI with remote flexibility. You will lead authorization capabilities, mentor engineers, and collaborate across teams to deliver secure, dependable solutions.

Formación

• 8+ years of hands-on development in authentication/authorization or access control.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• Deep expertise in role-based and attribute-based access control systems.
• Strong programming skills in Go, Springboot, Python, JavaScript.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, Helm, GitOps, Argo CD, or similar.
• Experience applying AI-assisted software engineering across the lifecycle.
• Advanced problem-solving for security, reliability, scalability, maintainability.
• Clear written and verbal communication, ability to lead design discussions.
• Experience with Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud services.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, observability.

Responsabilidades

• Lead design and implementation of authorization frameworks aligned to industry standards.
• Architect and build access control systems using permissions, roles, and attributes.
• Define and implement policy-driven and distributed authorization solutions.
• Lead security and authorization reviews and drive remediation.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain cloud-native microservices and APIs for cloud platforms.
• Write secure code in Go, Java, Python, and JavaScript.
• Create technical guidance and reusable patterns for product environments.
• Define observability with metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and alerts.
• Design data models with relational and graph databases.
• Support production systems and participate in on-call rotations.
