Job Description

As a Customer Engagement Manager at Alation, you possess deep data management expertise and an outstanding record of data program success. You will advise key client sponsors and lead multi-phase data intelligence programs, focusing on driving customer satisfaction, facilitating data program success, and fostering long-term relationships with Alation’s customers.

This role requires diverse skills, combining technical knowledge, interpersonal abilities, and strategic thinking to ensure continuous value realization for customers. A successful Customer Engagement Manager thrives at strategic planning, empathetic client engagement, and problem-solving to ensure Alation’s customers develop successful data cultures and maximize the value of the Alation platform.

What You'll Do
  • Conduct needs assessments to understand customers' business objectives and challenges.
  • Lead Data Culture Maturity Assessments, use case workshops, product roadmap sessions, surveys, interviews, and develop tailored action plans.
  • Guide customers on optimizing the value of the Alation platform for their business.
  • Provide expert advice on addressing specific customer needs with Alation’s platform.
  • Conduct training sessions to educate customers on platform features.
  • Analyze customer usage data to improve engagement.
  • Communicate customer feedback internally for product improvements.
  • Maintain regular communication through meetings, emails, and presentations.
  • Advocate for the customer within Alation.
  • Lead enterprise software implementations.
  • Participate in account knowledge transfer sessions with pre-sales teams.

What You Need
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years in similar roles like Solution Engineering, Program Management, Consulting, or Professional Services.
  • Experience with Data Management maturity assessments and translating requirements into use cases.
  • Knowledge of data disciplines like Data Warehousing, Data Modeling, ETL, Data Quality, BI/Analytics, Data Science.
  • Experience managing portfolios and customer expectations.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Familiarity with software development, SQL, Python, API is advantageous.
  • Ability to handle multiple engagements and travel up to 10%.
Bonus Skills
  • Project Management/Scrum certifications (CAPM, PMP, Six Sigma).
  • DCAM Certification or similar.
  • Multilingual abilities.
  • Experience with software development, SQL, Python, API is advantageous.
Compensation Pay Range

$112,174.00 - $151,435.00

The salary depends on various factors including experience, education, and location. The final offer will be determined accordingly.
