Commonwealth of VA Careers in Virginia is seeking a Staff Court Interpreter to perform court interpreting, language access coordination, and program support within the Foreign Language Services Division.

The role may be filled at certification-eligible or certified appointment level, with opportunities to support translation projects and statewide language access initiatives. Travel within Virginia may be required; adherence to professional standards is essential.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus professional interpreting experience.
• Experience providing consecutive and simultaneous interpretation and sight translation in legal or governmental settings.
• Ability to use technology systems, scheduling platforms, and Microsoft Office.

Responsabilidades

• Provide accurate and impartial court interpretation using simultaneous and consecutive interpretation and sight translation.
• Interpret in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and jury trials.
• Coordinate language access requests and interpreter services for assigned courts and programs.
• Review interpreter invoices for accuracy and compliance with payment requirements.
• Maintain and update scheduling platforms and databases.
