The Staff Counsel, eDiscovery Services, provides review services in dispute and corporate due diligence matters under the supervision of NRF lawyers. This role serves as a Team Lead, coordinating communication between lawyers and review teams, performing quality control, and handling discovery tasks such as document summaries, issue analysis, chronologies, and privilege logs.

This is a full-time remote position, with flexibility to attend meetings or training at any US office location. The Staff Counsel reports to the Senior Manager, Document Review Services in Houston.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Review, analyze, and code documents for responsiveness, relevancy, confidentiality, issues, and privilege.
  • Participate in training sessions and team meetings.
  • Conduct quality control reviews of document coding and redactions.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and review work by first-level reviewers.
  • Identify, escalate, and track questions and issues to lawyers and support staff.
  • Prepare and edit privilege logs for production.
  • Review contracts and agreements based on specified criteria.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited institution.
  • Licensed and in good standing to practice in Texas or Missouri.
  • Preferred: minimum 3 years of document review experience.
  • Strong knowledge of document review platforms.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Understanding of attorney-client and work product privileges.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to support after-hours, overtime, and weekend work as needed.
