Staff Consultant (Civil Structural Engineer)

Salary Range: $85,000.00 To $120,000.00 Annually

Responsible for assisting in and performing investigations related to residential and commercial structures, as well as preparing technical reports for clients. Will assist in planning, managing and coordinating activities for assigned projects to ensure that goals/objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or with the assistance of Staff Consultants, Senior Consultants, and/or Senior Managing Consultants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assists in performing field inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial structures, etc. to determine origin and cause of reported or suspected damages, as well as condition evaluation assessments.
  • Assists in preparing technical, project-related reports for clients as required.
  • Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems.
  • Assists in preparing and conducting well-developed and well-prepared client presentations and technical conference presentations.
  • Confers with project team members to outline work plan and to assist in performing duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
  • Assists with directing and coordinating activities with project personnel to ensure projects are progressing on schedule and within prescribed budgets.
  • Assists in preparing and reviewing project proposals or plans to determine time frame, funding limitations, appropriate procedures to accomplish the project tasks, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project.
Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience preferred
  • Performing field investigations, structural inspections, structural analysis, structural design, technical report writing and preparations
  • General familiarity with residential, commercial, marine, transportation and industrial construction is preferred.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited University; PhD or Master's degree is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience preferred
Computer Skills:
  • Intermediate/advanced skills in Excel, Word, Auto CAD, SAP, STAAD, various structural software, and Internet software skills.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Ability to obtain PE license
