Williams is seeking a Staff Construction Manager in Houston to lead on-site construction for power generation facilities and related projects. You will direct on-site teams, manage front-end planning, cost and schedule, and coordinate with Operations, Engineering, and Commissioning to deliver projects safely and on time.
Preferred candidates have 7+ years on mega projects, with a Bachelor’s degree and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
At Williams, we’re powering a cleaner, more connected future, and that starts with you. Here, your work fuels communities, drives innovation, and helps deliver reliable energy the world depends on. Join a Fortune 500 team that invests in your growth, values your contributions, and challenges you to make a lasting impact every day. The Staff Construction Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of power generation facility and other construction projects, and independently directs Williams’ on-site construction team. This role also develops and drives strategic construction practices within the organization and the industry, and typically resides in the Center of Excellence. You will serve as the company field representative and single point of contact for all construction-related activities on generating facility projects — including turbine and generator installation, HRSG and heat-recovery erection, balance-of-plant systems, high-voltage electrical and substation construction, and commissioning support. The role holds accountability for front-end planning, construction estimate development and analysis, contracting strategy input and contractor qualification and selection, contract management, review and acceptance of the contractor’s Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) and QA/QC staffing plans, construction cost and schedule management, and liaison activities with Operations, Engineering, and the Commissioning team, while proactively anticipating and resolving construction issues and claims. Assignments may include projects of varying size, scope, and complexity.
Required: High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of twelve (12) years’ related experience on small to mega projects including a minimum seven (7) years on large to mega projects.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree
