Job summary

Aurora is seeking a Staff Cybersecurity Engineer to mature Cloud & Enterprise Detection within the Detection & Response team. This senior individual contributor will lead multi-quarter initiatives, driving detection coverage across cloud and enterprise environments and collaborating with Cloud Infrastructure, IT, and Platform Engineering.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of security experience with cross-functional project leadership.
• Strong threat detection and incident response background.
• Expertise in cloud security across major providers and telemetry sources.
• Experience building or maturing detection infrastructure - SIEM or data pipelines.
• Experience with EDR and SaaS security monitoring or comparable telemetry depth.

Responsibilities

• Drive cross-functional projects to mature detection infrastructure, log ingestion and normalization, detection-as-code pipelines with testing, versioning, and CI/CD.
• Expand detection coverage across cloud and corporate environments and prioritize improvements.
• Design, build, and tune detections for cloud control plane, identity, endpoint, and SaaS activity.
• Partner with Cloud Infrastructure, IT, and Platform Engineering to embed logging and detection requirements into system design.
• Integrate threat intelligence and adversary emulation into detection coverage priorities.
• Respond to cloud and enterprise security incidents and participate in on-call rotations.
