Job summary

Aurora is seeking a Staff Cybersecurity Engineer to advance Detection & Response across cloud and enterprise environments. This senior IC role leads cross‑functional initiatives, codes hands‑on, and partners with Cloud Infrastructure, IT and Platform Engineering to mature detection at scale.

Required: 10+ years in security, cloud security, SIEM/data lake pipelines, EDR and MITRE ATT&CK knowledge; strong Python skills.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of security experience with cross‑functional delivery.
• Strong background in threat detection and incident response.
• Expertise in cloud security across major providers and telemetry.
• Experience with SIEM, data lakes, and detections pipelines.
• Proficient in Python for automation and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Drive cross‑functional projects to mature detection infrastructure
• Expand detection coverage across cloud and enterprise environments
• Design and tune detections for cloud, endpoint, and SaaS activity
• Partner with infrastructure and platform teams to embed detection requirements
• Integrate threat intelligence and perform proactive threat hunting
• Respond to security incidents and participate in on‑call rotation
• Mentor SOC engineers and participate in quarterly planning
