Blue Current in Hayward, CA is seeking a Staff Cell Assembly Engineer to own and scale large-format solid-state battery assembly processes. You will define tooling, drive process development, and partner with engineering, R&D, and facilities to achieve yield and scale-up milestones.

Qualifications

• PhD/ masters/ bachelor in chemical engineering or related field with relevant experience.
• Experience troubleshooting assembly with advanced characterization techniques.
• Ability to translate requirements into tooling and fixtures and validate hardware.

Responsibilities

• Owns cell assembly processes for solid-state platform from development to scale-up.
• Designs and implements equipment, improves yield, and documents processes.
• Leads vendor evaluation, FAT/SAT activities, and equipment spec definitions.
• Defines inspection criteria, edge alignment, and layer tolerances for quality.
• Collaborates across engineering teams to balance material constraints and cell performance.
