Job summary

Blue Current seeks a Manager, Cell Assembly Scaleup to lead development, optimization, and scale-up of cell assembly processes for solid-state batteries. You will build and lead a team of engineers, define a technology roadmap, and ensure manufacturing readiness from R&D to pilot-scale and beyond. You will collaborate cross-functionally to drive process improvements, establish standards, and transfer technology to production.

A Ph.D. or M.S.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or M.S. in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrochemistry, or a related field.
• 5+ years in process/manufacturing engineering or scale-up within batteries or related manufacturing.
• Experience with cell assembly processes, equipment development, process qualification, and tech transfer.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, optimization, and scale-up of cell assembly processes to produce high-quality solid-state battery cells.
• Build and mentor a team of cell assembly engineers with technical leadership and career development.
• Define a technology roadmap, establish process strategies, and support pilot-scale to commercial production.
• Identify and implement improvements to enhance yield, throughput, quality, and efficiency.
• Set specifications, SOPs, quality standards, and control methodologies for robust operations.
• Collaborate across engineering, quality, and operations to support tech transfer and investigations.
• Report status, risks, and recommendations to leadership; promote engineering best practices and training.
• Foster safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization.
