Qualifications

• 10+ years of production engineering experience in distributed systems and caching.
• Experience operating Redis/Memcached at cloud scale, including topology, eviction policy, replication and failure recovery.
• Experience with multi-tenancy and running shared caching infrastructure across many workloads.
• Deep understanding of cache consistency and failure modes at scale and appropriate invalidation strategies.
• Knowledge of replacement algorithms beyond LRU (LFU, ARC) and multi-tier cache architectures.
• Experience in cloud-native environments prioritizing redundancy, resource efficiency and resiliency.
• Track record of leading cross-team technical initiatives with durable documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication for architectural guidance across teams.
• Comfort with ambiguity and driving from first principles to production.
• Experience with 24/7 production on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate the caching infrastructure that serves as the data access layer for a large healthcare domain.
• Own the full lifecycle of cache design from eviction policy to invalidation architecture and operational recovery.
• Define performance and correctness contracts between the caching layer and dependent services.
• Drive adoption of caching best practices and shared libraries across engineering teams.
• Diagnose, resolve, and lead incident response for cache issues and post-incident reviews.
• Mentor senior engineers and set the technical bar through design/code reviews.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for continuous operational support.
