Job summary

The Hiring Method, LLC is seeking a Staff C++ Software Engineer for a mission-driven program at the Wright-Patterson AFB area in Dayton, OH. This 100% onsite role requires hands-on development in secure SCIF environments and focuses on architecting scalable C++ systems for national-security applications.

The ideal candidate has extensive C++ experience, strong Linux skills, and a background in high-performance, distributed, and concurrent systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant software engineering experience OR Master’s with 6+ years of relevant experience
Active TS/SCI security clearance required on Day 1
Strong C++ development experience (C++17/20/23) and Linux experience

Responsibilities

Architect and develop scalable, high-performance, low-latency software systems using modern C++
Establish technical direction and architecture for core software platforms
Optimize system throughput, memory efficiency, resource utilization, and overall application performance
Develop production-level software in Linux environments using modern C++ practices
Design and improve distributed, concurrent, and multithreaded software systems
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers while influencing technical practices across the team
Collaborate with multiple disciplines supporting complex classified programs
