Job summary

Rose International seeks a Staff-level Application Software Engineer to develop PC-based applications for the Mako robotic surgery platform. You will integrate with the Mako robot, camera systems, and other subsystems, focusing on production-quality C++ software in an application software context.

The role requires 4+ years in software development, strong C++, OO design, and experience with Agile/Scrum and SAFe.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
4+ years of professional software development experience.
Strong C++ and object-oriented programming skills.
Production-level application software development experience.
Experience integrating complex software or hardware systems.
Experience with Agile/Scrum and structured SDLC processes.
Ability to quickly understand an existing codebase and work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain C++ application software.
Work with software interfacing with robotic, camera, and integrated systems.
Understand existing architecture and contribute production-quality code.
Write unit tests and participate in code reviews.
Troubleshoot and resolve defects using Jira.
Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, engineers, and SMEs.
Participate in Agile/Scrum and SAFe activities.
Create technical documentation and communicate progress, risks, and decisions.
Follow established SDLC, quality, and regulatory processes.
