Job summary

Anaconda, Inc. is expanding our wheel and package distribution story. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will shape the toolchain that builds complex packages from source and scale automation across Linux, macOS, and Windows.

You will mentor engineers, influence technical strategy, review AI-assisted code, and partner with Python packaging groups to deliver reliable, scalable build and release infrastructure for the growing catalog.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Deep, hands on experience in C/C++, across large codebases.
• Experience building or maintaining production software across Linux, macOS, Windows.
• Experience with AI assisted development tools (Claude Code).
• Experience with Git or other version control systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve the toolchain that compiles complex packages from source.
• Create, review, and evolve conda recipes, build tooling, and release processes.
• Partner with Python wheels and distribution teams as automation scales.
• Mentor engineers on architecture, debugging, and packaging practices.
• Lead postmortems, capacity planning, and incident response for build infra.
• Advise leadership on project scoping and delivery trade offs.
