Job summary

Skyworks Solutions, Inc. in Florida is seeking a highly skilled RF/BAW designer to contribute to state-of-the-art bulk acoustic wave devices.

You will work on design, simulation, layout, and testing for defense, aerospace, satcom, and wireless infrastructure applications. Candidates typically hold a PhD/MS in EE or Physics focusing on RF or a related BS with 3–5+ years of design experience, with proficiency in RF/EM tools like AWR-Microwave Office and HFSS.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics with focus on RF is preferred. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics with an additional 3-5+ years design experience is required.
• Experience with schematic design, RF and EM simulation, and design layout is preferred.
• 3+ years direct experience in acoustic design (BAW or SAW) is preferred.
• Knowledge of AWR-Microwave Office and HFSS design tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• To design BAW devices employing a variety of design techniques, including ladder filters, coupled-resonator (CRF), and hybrid filters.
• To perform acoustic and electromagnetic (EM) simulations using not only commercially available tools but also Qorvo's state-of-the-art internally developed tools.
• To layout devices and generate photomask sets.
• To perform device characterization and diagnostics using the latest RF/Microwave test equipment.
• To work in a team by contributing one’s RF skills to integrated module designs.
• To continuously improve design flow, cycle time, and schedule.
