Veritone, Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer specialized in robust backend architecture and distributed systems. You will guide technical direction and establish engineering best practices while partnering with product and infrastructure teams to build auto-scaling applications.

The role focuses on designing and deploying high-performance code, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and delivering AI-driven platform integrations at production scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience architecting and building high-performance, reliable systems in distributed environments.
• Strong programming skills in Golang, Node.js, or React with solid OO and functional design.
• Experience designing end-to-end scalable systems with security and reliability in mind.
• Solid SDLC practices, code reviews, version control, and automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Navigate ambiguity to solve complex, novel problems in uncharted spaces.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive architectural alignment and shared goals.
• Contribute to technical direction, establish best practices, and shape long-term roadmaps.
• Build, deploy, and maintain scalable, reliable backend services meeting customer needs.
• Partner with product/design/infrastructure to enhance scalable applications and services.
• Improve application reliability by coordinating with Operations and Infra teams.
