Job summary

Motion Recruitment Partners LLC is seeking Senior and Staff Software Engineers to scale its Boston engineering presence. The role focuses on backend engineering, distributed systems, AWS infrastructure, and high-scale application development, with contributions to React and Node.js frontend work.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years (Senior) or 10+ years (Staff) of experience, strong TypeScript/Node.js expertise, and a track record building scalable systems on AWS.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering (Senior) or 10+ years (Staff)
• Expert-level proficiency with TypeScript and Node.js
• Experience designing and operating scalable backend services in production
• Strong experience building on AWS (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, IAM)
• Experience designing distributed systems and microservices architectures
• Proven track record improving performance, throughput, latency and reliability
• Experience operating services with high-volume traffic and large datasets
• Strong cloud-native development and observability practices
• Experience owning critical online databases, APIs, or back-end services
• Familiarity with React and modern frontend technologies
• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable backend services in production
• Improve system performance, reliability, and latency
• Build and enhance cloud-native infrastructure on AWS
• Collaborate with product/engineering teams on features
• Contribute to architecture reviews and technical leadership
• Mentor engineers and drive technical strategy
