Job summary

Reddit, Inc. is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer who will leverage applied ML to improve automated detection and enforcement across one of the internet’s largest sites. This role is fully remote-friendly within the United States, with opportunities to work from one of Reddit’s offices if desired.

You will lead cross-functional teams, shape roadmaps, and drive end-to-end product and technical strategy while mentoring engineers and advancing platform safety and scalability.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages; Go, Python, Rust, Ruby.

Responsibilities

• Work cross-functionally with product, data science, operations and other engineering counterparts to execute on product and business strategy to keep our platform safe.
• Contribute to the full development cycle: ideation, technical design, development, test, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
• Lead a team of engineers; set and define standards to improve developer workflows and coach others.
• Innovate on new solutions and continuously improve technical and non-technical abilities.
