Job summary

Coupang is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead the evolution of its Kubernetes platform and act as a technical authority. You will design scalable services, drive container orchestration roadmaps, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver a seamless developer experience.

You will mentor engineers, champion Coupang’s leadership principles, and help scale our core infrastructure to support rapid growth across global services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in C++/Java or Golang.
• Proven expertise in backend development and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable and reliable services and tools to enhance Coupang's Kubernetes ecosystem.
• Drive the technical roadmap for container orchestration to ensure global reliability, security, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to identify platform requirements and deliver a seamless developer experience.
• Optimize Kubernetes infrastructure for efficiency and to handle massive scale.
• Mentor junior and senior engineers while promoting engineering excellence and best practices across the team.
