Job summary

Airbnb is seeking a Staff Engineer for the Host Pricing & Availability team. You will drive the technical strategy and delivery of the pricing product roadmap, architect scalable systems, and collaborate with Product, Design, and Data Science to shape end-to-end solutions.

You will lead the development of core pricing features, optimize calendar management tools, and mentor senior engineers to raise technical maturity across the organization. This role is US-based with remote eligibility.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of engineering experience with a BS/MS or PhD in CS or similar.
• Proven track record of leading teams, setting technical strategy, and launching high-impact product features.
• Expertise with backend systems in large-scale service-oriented architectures.
• Experience influencing cross-functional partners and engineering teams.
• Good judgment in making tradeoffs to balance short-term business needs with long-term technical quality.
• Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
• Strong problem-solving and production debugging abilities.

The Host Pricing & Availability team builds the platform and tools that empower hosts to manage their business effectively. We help Airbnb hosts set competitive prices by providing market intelligence, comparable listing data, and demand signals. Additionally, we build advanced tools for seamless calendar management. As a critical component of Airbnb's business and a pillar of trust within our host community, we partner with the Search, Listings, Tax, and Payments teams to ensure accuracy and consistency across our pricing systems.

The Difference You Will Make

As a Staff Engineer on the Host Pricing and Availability team, you will drive the technical strategy and delivery of Airbnb's pricing product roadmap. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Data Science to architect scalable solutions with clear domain boundaries, while continuously enhancing the performance, efficiency, and impact of our end-to-end architecture.

This position is US & Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
