Job summary

Circuit is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to shape and scale its backend systems. You will own complex services written in Go and Python, focusing on resilience, performance, and scalability to support enterprise customers.

You will lead data platform work—sharding strategies, embedding indexes, and safe migrations—while ensuring observability and high reliability across systems. Collaboration with product, ML, and frontend teams is essential in a fast-paced, independent culture.

Qualifications

• Proven backend design and delivery experience.
• Go expertise with performance and concurrency.
• Deep PostgreSQL production experience (tuning, replication, maintenance).
• Experience with self-hosted Postgres and storage optimization.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and scaling of backend services (Go).
• Own data platform features including sharding and embedding indexes.
• Plan and execute safe production data migrations at scale.
