Job summary

Altruist is hiring a Staff Back End Engineer focused on building innovative Generative AI products for financial advisors within the AI Labs team. Title can be flexible depending on experience, and the role is hybrid with four in-office days per week at our San Francisco FiDi location.

You will lead engineering best practices, mentor peers, and design scalable data pipelines and AI-driven features. You’ll work with Java, Spring Boot, AWS, Postgres, and Kubernetes to deliver impactful,

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience building distributed systems.
• Experience with Generative AI frameworks and production Gen-AI products.
• Familiarity with AI APIs (OpenAI, Hugging Face, Anthropic) and NLP use cases.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
