Job summary

Scribe is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer, Data Ingestion, to own the backend platform and observability systems that ensure reliable data capture and ingestion across the fleet of desktop apps and browser extensions.

You’ll lead feature and reliability work on the Workflow Mapping client platform, building in Python with TypeScript and Go as needed, and partner with teams deploying services in AWS.

Qualifications

• Backend applications with ownership of production systems at staff level.
• Strong Python skills; comfortable with TypeScript and Go as needed.
• Experience designing, operating distributed data ingestion pipelines with a focus on reliability and scale.
• Built monitoring and observability systems to measure health and detect failures.
• Proficient with message queues and task orchestration (Celery, SQS, RabbitMQ, Kafka).
• Experience deploying and maintaining production services in AWS.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve the observability platform for desktop apps and browser extensions at scale.
• Define signals to measure recorder reliability and data capture health.
• Own backend ingestion services connecting data capture to processing and AI pipelines.
• Improve background-job reliability and task orchestration for data flow.
• Design, deploy, and operate production services in AWS with strong observability.
• Lead cross-team technical work and set architecture direction for the platform.
