Job summary

Scribe is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer, Data Ingestion, to own the backend platform and observability systems for Workflow Mapping capture and ingestion. You'll work primarily in Python with TypeScript and Go as needed, building systems that ensure data reliability across desktop apps and browser extensions deployed worldwide.

Qualifications

• Staff-level backend experience owning production systems.
• Strong Python skills; comfortable with TypeScript and Go.
• Designed and operated distributed data ingestion pipelines.
• Built monitoring/observability to measure health.
• Experience with message queues and background jobs.
• Experience deploying services in AWS.

Responsibilities

• Own backend ingestion services and observability for scale.
• Build/expand monitoring platform for desktop apps and extensions.
• Define signals for recorder reliability and data capture health.
• Lead cross-team technical work and set scalable architecture.
• Operate production services in AWS and improve reliability.
