We are hiring a Staff Backend Engineer to own distributed systems across audio ingestion, media processing, and inference orchestration, delivering fast, reliable clinician-facing capabilities.

Qualificações

• 8+ years of backend or infrastructure engineering experience.
• Experience designing, building, and operating production distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language.
• Experience with asynchronous processing, message queues, event-driven systems, or durable workflow execution.
• Understanding of distributed-systems concepts: idempotency, consistency, concurrency, backpressure, retries, failure isolation, eventual completion.
• Experience operating services in a cloud environment (deployment, monitoring, scaling, incident response).
• Experience designing APIs, service boundaries, and data models for complex workflows.
• Track record of improving system reliability, observability, scalability, or operational efficiency.
• Strong debugging skills across application, infrastructure, data, and external dependencies.
• Ability to reason about real-time and long-running workloads with different latency/durability requirements.
• Ownership mindset and bias for action.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and operate backend systems powering Ambient AI products for mobile and web.
• Develop inference workflows coordinating transcription, diarization, language models, and clinical extraction.
• Build orchestration systems for long-running workflows with scheduling, retries, and dead-letter handling.
• Improve reliability and scalability of services under compute-intensive workloads.
• Define and maintain service-level objectives for critical workflows.
• Build observability with logs, metrics, tracing, dashboards, and alerts.
• Lead incident response and post-incident analysis to drive improvements.
• Identify systemic failure patterns and automate them through better abstractions and tooling.
• Collaborate with mobile, product, AI, security, and clinical teams to productionize capabilities.
• Mentor engineers and help establish distributed systems practices and backend architecture.
