Job summary

Commure is building an AI-native platform to transform healthcare documentation, billing, and care delivery. The Staff Backend Engineer will shape the distributed backend that ingests audio, orchestrates AI models, and ensures reliability across real‑time and long‑running workloads.

You will own infrastructure that supports ingestion, processing, and outputs, collaborating with mobile, product, AI, and security teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend or infrastructure engineering experience.
• Experience designing, building, and operating production distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language.
• Experience with asynchronous processing, message queues, event‑driven systems, or durable workflow execution.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate backend systems powering Ambient AI products across mobile and web.
• Develop orchestration for long-running, multi-stage workflows with retries, timeouts, and dead-letter handling.
• Build observability across services with structured logging, metrics, and tracing; dashboards and alerts.
• Lead incident response and post-incident analysis to drive improvements.
