Rythm Health is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to own backend systems, design scalable APIs, and drive architecture in a fast-growing health-tech environment. You’ll work directly with cross-functional teams across product, lab, logistics, and billing, writing code, shaping platform decisions, and improving reliability.
This remote-first role offers equity, meaningful impact from day one, and the chance to help redefine at-home health testing.
Rythm is the fastest-growing lab in America. We redefined at-home testing with the world’s easiest blood test and created a culture around monthly lab testing from home. We’ve processed millions of tests across all 50 states, and we do everything in-house, from sample testing and logistics to code, marketing, and design. That vertical integration gives us the speed, control, and creativity to shape the future of health and wellness.
THE ROLE
Behind every Rythm member experience is a network of systems connecting our product, laboratory, logistics, and operations. As a Staff Backend Engineer, you’ll help build and strengthen that foundation.
You’ll take ownership of complex projects from the first technical decisions through launch and whatever comes next. Since we’re a small team, you’ll work directly with people across the business and have a clear view of how the things you build affect our members and the teams supporting them.
We’re looking for someone who can look at a messy problem, figure out what actually matters, and build a solution that works today without creating headaches down the road. You’ll have a real voice in our backend architecture and engineering practices, but this is still very much a hands-on role. You’ll spend most of your time designing systems, writing code, and improving the platform alongside the rest of the team.
