Job summary
General Motors is seeking a Staff Software Engineer – Automation Library Development to define and deliver automation software library strategy enabling vehicle-level test automation across all systems.
You will work with SDV, modernizing testing and integration, mentor a team, collaborate globally, and drive innovations in automation pipelines.
Hybrid role reporting to Warren, MI or Milford, MI three times per week, with potential relocation benefits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or computing field.
- 7+ years of software development experience (C++, C#, Python).
- Experience with Automotive Ethernet including SOME/IP protocol.
Responsibilities
- Define Python automation libraries and framework enablers for scalable vehicle-level testing.
- Establish and enforce clean, efficient, and well-documented coding standards.
- Perform code reviews and drive engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with global teams to enhance automation architecture and tooling.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing software automation team.
- Partner with virtual engineering teams to develop next-generation SDV tools and processes.
- Lead technical workshops to solve complex problems and drive innovation.
- Drive continuous improvement of enterprise-scale automation pipelines and quality frameworks.
