Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals MetroPlus Health, under direct supervision, performs operational and financial audits to improve the effectiveness of risk management, internal control and governance process within HHC. There are two (2) assignment levels within the class of positions; all personnel perform related work.

Minimum qualifications include a Baccalaureate Degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field, and one year of satisfactory experience in internal auditing

• A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field of study.
• One year of satisfactory experience in internal auditing and/or public accounting.

Responsibilities

• Performs specific audit procedures of tasks as assigned and/or directed
• Prepares workpapers and communicates audit findings to appropriate personnel; supports supervising auditor in completion of assigned responsibilities
• Conducts interviews with client personnel to assist in the evaluation of internal controls
• Executes and completes audit fieldwork according to established procedures; documents internal controls
• Recommends internal control process improvements as necessary and/or appropriate
• Travels to HHC facilities and other locations as needed/or necessary
