Job summary

The League of Credit Unions & Affiliates is hiring a full-time Staff Auditor for the Credit Union Audit Group. You will travel throughout Virginia to conduct cash counts, interim and annual reports, and compliance audits, ensuring operations meet applicable laws.

You will maintain relationships with state and federal agencies, document work in NetSuite, and support credit union staff, boards, and committees while promoting LEVERAGE products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or on track to obtain within three months of hire.
• 6–12 months of general accounting experience with knowledge of accounting and auditing principles.
• Knowledge of laws/regulations for state/federal credit unions; ability to detect violations.
• Credit Union experience is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

As a Staff Auditor, you will travel to different credit unions to conduct cash counts, complete interim and annual reports, and complete compliance audits. Staff Auditors ensure our credit union's operations and procedures are correct and comply with the law by performing highly technical audits and management analysis. You will assist with technical problems, attend conferences, and training sessions for credit union personnel, supervisory committees, and credit union boards while promoting LEVERAGE products and services to generate leads and referrals to our Business Development Consultant teams. Supporting credit union employees, officers, and committee members to be successful in their processes is a key component for this role.

Credit Union Audit Group is a subcompany under LEVERAGE, committed to delivering high-quality audit and compliance solutions tailored to the unique needs of credit unions. Staff Auditor will be required to maintain relationships with federal and state supervisory agencies, while keeping a record of all work contacts, activities, and expense reports in NetSuite.

What you need to be qualified for this job (see full job description attached):

1. Bachelor's degree in accounting or on track to obtain bachelor's degree in accounting within three months of hire.
2. Six to twelve months of general accounting experience, including knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and methods.
3. Knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to state/federal credit unions and the ability to detect violations and non-compliance of state/federal rules and regulations.
4. Credit Union experience a plus
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
6. CUCE and BSACS designations preferred; or must be obtained within 24 months.

Work Schedule:

As a Staff Auditor, you will be required to travel throughout Virginia, performing highly technical audits and various other auditing functions for multiple credit unions. You will work independently or with a team audit member based on the credit unions' needs. A valid driver's license is required. You must live locally or be willing to relocate to Virginia. You can expect to work Monday through Friday, with occasional night and weekend engagements.
