Job summary

NYU Langone Health's Grossman School of Medicine seeks a Staff Audiologist to provide full-spectrum diagnostic testing for referrals and to dispense and fit hearing aids. The role includes patient counseling and collaboration with the Cochlear Implant Audiology Team.

The position requires a doctoral degree in audiology, NYS licensure, and experience; strong organizational and communication skills are essential, with HIPAA compliance and professional conduct emphasized.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university required.
• Three-five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• NY State Audiology License, required. NY State Hearing Aid Dispensing License, preferred.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Computer experience with Word, Excel, Power Point, and outlook e-mail.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient hearing: administer and interpret behavioral and electrophysiological measures including air/bone conduction, speech tests, otoacoustic emissions, immitance testing, ABR.
• Evaluate, fit, and dispense amplification devices; provide counseling and training on device use.
• Document all information in patient chart and prepare written reports.
• Communicate findings to referring physician or other professionals involved in care.
• Ensure patient follow-up for services, as needed.
• Perform other related audiology duties as required.
• Supervise staff, students and CFY where applicable.
