Immigrant Defenders Law Center is seeking full-time staff attorneys to join a team delivering creative, zealous representation to immigrants in Southern California and beyond. The Riverside position involves a mixed caseload, including unaccompanied children and removal defense for adults and families, with collaboration across teams to provide holistic client-centered services.

• Juris Doctorate or L.L.M. degree required.
• Active California Bar license or eligibility to waive into the CA Bar.
• Strong case management, legal research, and writing skills.
• Willingness to pursue new and untested legal theories.
• Ability to take initiative and work under pressure.

• Passion for social justice for immigrants.

Responsabilidades

• Provide direct removal proceedings representation to unaccompanied children and adults.
• Represent clients in deportation proceedings and hearings.
• Determine eligibility for legal relief and develop case plans.
• Represent SIJS-eligible youth in related proceedings or coord with juvenile counsel.
• Collaborate with Post-Conviction Relief team for remedies.
• File appeals, motions, and habeas petitions as needed and funded.
• Coordinate with public defenders and counsel in ongoing proceedings.
• Evaluate immigration consequences of convictions and arrests.
• Travel to shelters and detention centers to interview clients and prepare applications.
• Prepare country conditions and supporting evidence; work with experts.
