Immigrant Defenders Law Center (ImmDef) seeks a full-time Staff Attorney with experience or interest in complex removal defense to represent immigrants in Southern California and beyond. The role focuses on criminal-immigration intersections, detention and bond advocacy, habeas cases, and post-order relief for detained and non-detained clients.

Qualificações

• Active California State Bar license or eligibility to waive into CA Bar.
• Strong case management, legal research, and legal writing skills.
• Willingness to pursue new and untested legal theories.

Responsabilidades

• Provide direct representation in complex removal defense matters including cases with criminal histories.
• Analyze immigration consequences and explore relief options such as asylum and cancellation of removal.
• Develop strategic legal arguments and prepare briefs, motions, and evidence.
• Represent detained or non-detained clients before immigration courts and agencies.
• Collaborate with teams for post-conviction relief and case referrals.
• Engage in client counseling, community training, and advocacy.
