Zusammenfassung

The Inland Coalition for Immigrant Justice seeks a Staff Attorney to provide high-quality, community-centered immigration legal representation across the Inland Empire, emphasizing removal defense, detention, and access to counsel.

You will work with DOJ-accredited representatives, organizers, and partners to defend immigrants, expand access to justice, and contribute to a broader movement for immigrant rights and liberation. The role requires collaboration, compassion, and strong advocacy.

Qualifikationen

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active California State Bar membership preferred; must obtain by May 2027 if not licensed.
• Fluency in Spanish.
• Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases independently and collaboratively.
• Commitment to immigrant rights and client confidentiality.

Aufgaben

• Represent detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before immigration courts, custody and bond hearings, and appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Handle affirmative immigration matters before USCIS and, when appropriate, the Department of State, including Special Immigrant Juvenile Status cases.
• Participate in federal litigation as needed, including habeas corpus petitions and petitions for review.
• Manage all aspects of assigned cases, including client counseling, legal research, case strategy, evidence development, and court appearances.
• Maintain regular communication with clients and ensure accurate case files and ethical compliance with staff support.
