Job summary

State of Connecticut, Office of State Ethics, is seeking a qualified attorney to handle complex legal work, investigations and enforcement matters under supervision. You will work on evaluating alleged violations of ethics codes and prepare opinions, filings and proceedings with confidentiality.

The role requires admission to the CT bar, robust legal research, and experience in administrative hearings. The position is full-time with a hybrid work environment and potential travel.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience in the practice of law.
• Must be admitted to practice law in the State of Connecticut.
• Experience in conducting hearings and trial preparation in administrative or judicial matters is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs advanced and complex legal work for an agency.
• Researches, interprets, analyzes and applies complex and conflicting laws and regulations.
• Acts as hearing officer or represents agency in formal proceedings on a full range of cases.
• Negotiates and drafts settlements and prepares court pleadings and opinions.
• Provides input into policy formation and reviews legal documents for sufficiency.
