Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Active admission to the New York State Bar.
  • Experience in elder law or related fields preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct legal representation for older adults facing abuse or exploitation.
  • Develop legal strategies with social workers and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Represent clients in Family, Housing, and Supreme Court proceedings.
  • Deliver legal education, outreach, and training for professionals and community orgs.
  • Assist with grant writing, reporting, and compliance activities.

Job Title: Staff Attorney (Part-Time) – Immediate Opportunity
Location: Bronx, NY
Schedule: 4 Days per Week (Onsite)

Are you passionate about advocating for vulnerable older adults and making a meaningful impact through legal services? We are seeking a Part-Time Staff Attorney to join a multidisciplinary elder justice team dedicated to protecting the rights, safety, and dignity of older adults experiencing abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside social workers, healthcare professionals, and community partners while representing clients in Family, Housing, and Supreme Courts throughout New York City and Westchester County.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct legal representation and advocacy for older adults experiencing abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
  • Develop legal strategies in collaboration with social workers and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Represent clients in Family Court, Housing Court, and Supreme Court proceedings.
  • Deliver legal education, outreach, and training programs for professionals and community organizations.
  • Assist with grant writing, reporting, and compliance activities.
  • Support policy initiatives and legislative advocacy related to elder justice.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, government agencies, and law enforcement partners.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews to ensure comprehensive client support.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active admission to the New York State Bar (or eligibility to practice in New York).
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience in elder abuse, domestic violence, victim advocacy, family law, housing law, or related legal services is highly preferred.
  • Passion for serving vulnerable populations and working in a mission-driven environment.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $83,000–$100,000 annually (Part-Time)
