Job summary

The Scion Group LLC seeks a Staff Attorney to develop and implement legal and company policy at the corporate level, supporting the legal team and property management staff in day-to-day operations. Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate and review commercial contracts.
• Draft and review housing agreements, leases and related real estate documents.
• Advise Paralegals in contract preparation and external communications.
• Respond to escalated resident complaints, attorneys and agencies under Fair Housing laws.
• Respond to vendor and resident disputes.
• Coordinate with outside counsel on litigation matters.
• Coordinate with internal and outside counsel on acquisitions.
• Perform legal due diligence for potential acquisitions.

Job description

Scion is seeking a skilled Staff Attorney to join us in executing our vision . This position will focus on assisting with developing, articulating, and implementing legal and company policy at the corporate level .

The Staff Attorney will use their legal expertise and creative problem-solving skills to support the legal team and property management staff with day-to-day operations. This role demands strong organization and prioritization, analytical mindset, attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Your Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiat e and review a variety of commercial contracts .
• Draft and revis e housing agreements, lease s and other relevant real estate documents .
• Assist and advise Paralegals in the preparation of contracts and external communications .
• Respond to escalated resident complaints, attorney s and agencies , with respect to issues arising under State and Federal Fair Housing laws, rules and regulations.
• Respond to vendor and resident disputes .
• Coordinat e with outside counsel on litigation matters .
• Coordinat e with inside and outside counsel on entity and asset acquisitions .
• Perform l legal due diligence analysis with respect to potential acquisitions and provides guidance.

Qualifications

• Law degree from an accredited university or law school, admission to the bar of at least one US State and 2-5 years of professional work experience, preferably within Multi-family housing.
• Fair Housing law experience is strongly preferred.

The base salary range for this full-time position is base + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
