Job summary

Applied Systems is seeking an Application Architect to guide enterprise solutions across on-premise and cloud environments. You will shape product vision with technical design input, ensuring scalable, high-performance software.

Collaborate with engineering to maintain standards, design APIs, and lead architectural initiatives. Remote or office-based in North America, with a focus on cloud-native development and secure, reliable systems.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and building large, cloud-ready, scalable software.
• Experience designing enterprise web services and APIs.
• Knowledge of web app development with C#, ASP.NET MVC, HTML5, JavaScript, Angular.
• Understanding of relational, NoSQL and columnar data stores.
• Experience with cloud-native development in AWS or GCP.
• Experience with AI development tools like Claude Code or Github CoPilot.
• Experience with microservices, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Strong problem-solving across complex product ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Provide architectural guidance across complex projects and improve reliability and quality.
• Align application design with broader architecture blueprint.
• Develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
• Present analyses to define plans and develop innovative solutions.
• Create proofs of concept to validate approaches.
• Champion standards addressing scalability, data integrity, and security.
• Evaluate software technologies for fit to purpose.
• Create technical documentation for architecture and integration processes.
• Provide feedback in code reviews for quality consistency.
• Contribute to product design meetings for technical direction.
• Mentor team members to grow skills and knowledge.
