Ensures the quality, scalability, and supportability of business applications.**Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities*** Defines, designs, and oversees the systems and applications architecture for current and future technology products and business applications.* Understands product vision and business requirements to define product architectures and works with product managers to plan and execute new product releases.* Partners with cross-functional teams to ensure products and solutions meet business requirements, are well documented, and have processes in place for ongoing support and maintenance.* Develops architecture and design principles to improve product performance, capacity, and scalability.* Maintains architectural standards to ensure product development needs align with business objectives.* Assists technology teams with issues needing technical expertise and complex systems knowledge.* Evaluates new and emerging technologies and developmental methodologies to find faster, cost effective, and more reliable solutions for existing and proposed systems.* Provides training and guidance to technology teams.**Nature and Scope*** Solutions require analysis and investigation.* Operates with considerable latitude. Situations may have little or no precedent requiring original or new concepts or approaches without guidance from others. Reaches decisions under conditions of uncertainty.* Develops or engages/directs others in developing innovative solutions to important, highly complex strategic and operating problems; cross-departmental considerations are often present.**Work Environment*** Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.* Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.* Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.**Education and Experience*** Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification.
